Our Blog
6/26/10
We are in the busy part of our season if there is such a thing. I am still trying to figure out when the slow time is. Many baby beardies are hatching and the ball python eggs are beginning to fill the new incubator. We made some new ball python purchases for Acadiana Reptile Company today. We bought a female pied, a mojave het hypo female, and a proven male hypo. Charles and Wendy are going to have to stay busy in the rat buildings to keep up with the demand. They are fantastic partners and I feel blessed to be working with them. I worked today to begin getting things ready for the Repticon show in Baton Rouge (Gonzales)show this coming weekend. Come by and say hi if you are in the area.

While I started this blog with the best of intentions it seems that there just isn't enough time in the day to keep it up. Someone asked a friend of mine the other day if we were still doing business because the blog had not been updated for so long. Well the answer is yes and the business is strong. I guess that is why I don't keep this blog updated. We will be attending three shows in the next two months, the Westweego (New Orleans) show on the 5th and 6th of June, the Baton Rouge show on the 3rd and 4th of July and the Houston show on the 31st of July and the 1st of August. Come by and see us if you get a chance.
We are about to roll out the new company with our partners Charles and Wendy Triche. It has been named the Acadiana Reptile Company and will feature ball python morphs as well as some new exciting bearded dragon projects.
We have also purchased a percentage of a trade show display company so if you are in need of anything trade show related get in touch with us. Going to run for now, critters to feed and poop to clean. I promise to try to do a better job of keeping up with this so check back soon.

All of the female bearded dragons are doing well after their egg production. They are putting weight back on and we are continuing the superworm treats along with well dusted crickets and roaches. We have began using Nature Zone Bearded Dragon Bites this year too and have been very happy with the results. We mix the bearded dragon bites with their greens and veggies to provide a wholesome salad.

This is turning out to be quite a week for us another one of our female bearded dragons laid a clutch of 22 eggs yesterday evening. Deja is a Chris Allen Red X Flaming Tiger cross. She was bred to Mad Max our Patternless Orange male. She got the usual superworm feast and a warm soak and is resting comfortably. Speaking of superworms we have finally got caught up after getting several new commercial customers. If anyone is interested in a bulk superworm order for a good price get in touch with us.

Yesterday was a big day for us. We had our first clutch of Ball Python eggs. They were from a 100% het pied male bred to a normal female. She laid 11 eggs so we are lookiing forward to lots of little ball pythons soon. Michelle, one of our female bearded dragons also laid 29 eggs last night so we were pretty excited. I rewarded her with a warm bath and a superworm feast. Superworms are great to help put lost weight back on egg producing bearded dragons The bearded dragons are full into the breeding season and the incubators are filling up with bearded dragon eggs. As many of you have seen we have started offering blatta lateralis roaches and this is coming along well. We are also working with some other roach species and these will be coming available in the near future. I will be announcing the bearded dragon crosses, that we have done so far this season, soon so check back often.

The Gretal X Nova babies have done very well and are ready for release. They are a beautiful yellow at this time with some orange highlights. With this being our first breeding of these morphs we are eagerly anticipating each shed to see what happens with these. The Cinnamon X Nova babies were incredible and sold out before any public offerings were done. We have one last clutch in the incubator and they are pre-sold too. We have some babies from a Tiger Lil(Flaming Tiger X Orange german Giant) x Gus (Blueback Citrus) breeding that have done well too. They came out of the egg red orange and are about to start their first shed.

We are going to try to keep this page fairly current letting you know what is going on here on the farm. With Christmas over we are looking forward to the New Year. We have two clutches of eggs in the incubator, one from Gretal and Nova and one from Layla and Tobasco. We are also looking forward to the Reptile show in Westwego(New Orleans) on the 20th and 21st of January and hope to see as many of you as possible there.
